The Power of Integration

Ireland's energy data currently exists in silos—electricity grids, building stocks, transport, renewable generation, and industrial consumption each operate with separate monitoring systems. FIESO breaks down these barriers by:

  • Unifying Data Sources: Integrating existing dashboards like EirGrid's Smart Grid Dashboard and the Irish Building Stock Observatory with new data streams from pilot programs and laboratory facilities
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Providing stakeholders with up-to-date visibility of energy flows across all sectors
  • Open Access Platform: Creating a one-stop-shop for researchers, policymakers, and industry to access historical, current, and forecasted energy data

Advanced Visualization and Analysis

Located at the Lir Laboratory UCC, FIESO features a state-of-the-art Energy System Observatory with high-performance computing equipment and video wall displays. This physical infrastructure supports:
